Karnataka: Sharpshooters remanded to judicial custody

The accomplices were apprehended on charges of supplying firearms and weapons to the sharpshooters.

Belagavi: The six notorious sharpshooters, who were arrested last week for planning to free Dinesh Shetty, an inmate of Hindalga prison, were remanded to judicial custody along with two of their accomplices.

The accomplices were apprehended on charges of supplying firearms and weapons to the sharpshooters. During interrogation the Belagavi police confirmed that Charan Singh, who was arrested by them on Wednesday in Chacharya in Madhya Pradesh had supplied firearms to sharpshooters and had close ties with them. According to Police Inspector B.R. Gaddekar, another accomplice of sharpshooters Ganesh Shetty, who was arrested in Belagavi on Wednesday, had been tapping several sources to extend financial help to sharpshooters.

A Mumbai police team is in Belagavi to collect information on other crimes committed by the arrested shapshooters.
