Bengaluru: When a teacher turns tormentor!

She claims that she didn't get any support from the other parents as they chose to keep quiet.

Bengaluru: If there are any doubts that the once noble profession of teaching is now the preserve of whackos, one needs to look no further than the nursery school in Ulsoor where one teacher, who was pulled up for raining blows on her students, decided that she would strip them in public instead or threaten to lock them in a dark, windowless room and unleash a wild dog which would attack the kids’ genitalia.

The state Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KCPCR) took note after a deeply troubled mother’s post on social media on how her toddler was stripped and shamed by her school teacher as part of the bizarre and sadistic form of punishment meted out to her at her nursery school. The commission has issued a summons to the school authorities, which despite repeated attempts by DC, could not be reached for comment.

The mother says in her chilling blog that her daughter's pleas not to go to school because she was being beaten and her complaints to the school authorities, thereafter saw the female teacher change tactics and resort to “pulling down the underpants” of her daughter, as well as other children, while the rest of the class was asked to shout out the taunt “shame shame puppy shame.”

In her post, she alleged that “it started with physical punishment for my daughter who is studying in nursery. Each morning started with her crying and pleading with me not to send her to school. At first I ignored it as I thought maybe she needs time to adjust to her new school. But when I finally asked her the reason for her daily crying, she told me that her class teacher beat her regularly. So I requested her class teacher not to beat her. However after giving her three more chances to stop beating her, she continued to beat my child as well the other children. Then I decided to complain to Principal.” It all went downhill after that. She alleged that after the teacher was pulled up for beating, she came up with these twisted ways to punish her daughter and other children. Curiously,

She claims that she didn’t get any support from the other parents as they chose to keep quiet and “continue seeing their innocent child suffer mentally."

Summons issued
When contacted, Ms. Kripa Alva, chairperson, Karnataka State Commission for Child Rights (KCPCR) said summons had been issued to the school authorities . “I am sending a commission member to the school on Monday to verify the facts and submit a report to help us take further action,” she added.

No response
The school authorities were not available for comment on the phone and an email sent to them remained unanswered.
