Hyderabad: A 32-year-old woman named Asmita, who had been grappling with depression following her husband's death, died by suicide unable to take care for her two children, police said. The police registered a case of unnatural death and sent the body to Osmania General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
On Tuesday night, the police discovered Asmita's body at her home in Upper Dhoolpet. Her husband, Aman Kumar Singh, employed at a private firm in Gachibowli, had passed away from a brain stroke on December 26, having been diagnosed with high blood pressure.
Since her husband’s demise, Asmita had been experiencing depression, which may have led her to take this extreme step, the Mangalhat police said. Asmita had been married to Aman for seven years and leaves behind two sons — five-year-old Ronak Singh and four-year-old Ritwik Singh.
