Denied New Dress by Son, Man Ends Life
Hyderabad: A 63-year-old man ended his life after his son refused to get him a new pair of dress on his grandson’s birthday on Tuesday, the police said
After a heated argument with his son, the sexagenarian hanged himself at his house at PJR Enclave Colony in Ameenpur late on Tuesday night, according to Ameenpur police.
The elderly man, Ramananaiah, asked his son G. Mahesh, to get him a new dress for his grandson’s birthday. When Mahesh stressed that he would buy after he gets his salary, Ramanaiah got upset. Vexed over this, Ramanaiah told Mahesh that he had already bought new clothes and wanted to wear that on the birthday as he was sick and would not be alive to see his grandson’s next birthday celebration, police said.
However, the argument took a nasty turn and Ramanaiah got dejected. “In a fit of rage, he ended his life in his room,” the police added
Ramanaiah suffered a major heart attack at his native place and six months ago had come to his son’s place and they were staying in a rented house, Ameenpur police inspector M. Ramachari said.
“Mahesh got a job as a security guard in a real estate company and was finding it difficult to make ends meet,” Ramachari said adding that police registered a case of suspicious death and shifted the victim’s body to a government hospital mortuary for postmortem.
