Over 200 people on Tuesday protested against molestation of women on New Year's Eve in the city.

BENGALURU: A schoolgirl was allegedly molested by a pervert in Vyalikaval police limits on Tuesday evening.
The girl, a ninth standard student, was heading home after school when the pervert, who is around 20 years old, held her at Vyalikaval 13th cross and allegedly molested her on the road. Passersby tried to catch him, but he managed to escape.
Residents said the incident took place around 3.30 pm and the accused, who seemed to be under the influence of narcotic substances, was new to the locality.
Protest
Over 200 people on Tuesday protested against molestation of women on New Year's Eve in the city.
The march, led by Vimochana, an NGO that works with women’s rights, and several other social organisations, held a public protest on MG Road.
