KAKINADA: A seven-year-old boy, Tadi Nani studying Class III at the NTR School in Nelamma Cheruvu area of Samalkot, was kidnapped by a gang around 3pm on Thursday.
The gang later phoned his father Ramesh and demanded a ransom of Rs 4 lakh.
Ramesh, an agriculture labourer, lodged a complaint with the Samalkot
police.
Meanwhile, the kidnappers left the boy near JNTUK centre at Kakinada and
booked a rapido. They asked the bike driver to take the boy to Samalkot
Matham centre.
The bike driver took the boy and handed him over to the Samalkot police
station after he was unable to reach the boy’s parents.
The police said a case was registered and a search was on for the
kidnappers. When we tried to trace the phone number via the True Caller
system, the name was displayed as Nenevaro Cheppali,” police said.
