HYDERABAD: A 14-month-old male child who was sleeping along with his mother on the pavement under the PVNR expressway at Mehdipatnam, here, was kidnapped.
Police said the woman identified as Shabana, 26, belonging to Tandur of Vikarabad district, made a living by begging. Two days ago, she along with her two children slept on the pavement. When she woke up in the wee hours of Wednesday, she found her younger child missing.
After searching for the child in the surrounding areas and inquiring with others sleeping on the pavement, she lodged a complaint at the Humayun nagar police station and a kidnap case was registered.
During inquiry, police verified CCTVs and found that an unidentified man kidnapped the child from the pavement. Further, it was found that the suspect took a bus to Vikarabad.
Police said that the kidnapper’s movements were tracked till Vikarabad, but lost track of him and the child, from there. Special teams are continuing the search to nab the kidnapper and rescue the child.
