Telangana Uber's bouncers assault cab drivers
Hyderabad: The Telangana State Cabs and Bus Operators Association (TSCBOA) and the Telangana State Cab Owners and Drivers Association (TSCODA) alleged that two drivers were beaten up by bouncers at the Uber office in Madhapur. Following a complaint from the victims, Madhapur police booked a case against the bouncers.
The victims, Satyaprasad and Raji Reddy, were beaten up by the bouncers hired by Uber when they went to their office to claim incentives. “Satyaprasad is 55 years old and he was beaten up so brutally that he suffered a fracture in his hand. He gets the weekly incentive on Tuesdays. However, this week his account was showing ‘zero.’ He went to the Uber office today to enquire about it. But he was denied entry and beaten up by the bouncers. Another driver, Raji Reddy, was beaten when he asked for his incentives,” said association leader Syed Nizamuddin. Police said that an investigation has been launched.
