Hyderabad: Former Congress minister Dr J. Geeta Reddy and Medak district Congress leader Gali Anil Kumar appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Delhi on Thursday in connection with the investments in the Congress-run National Herald Newspaper. It was reported that Dr Geeta Reddy informed ED officials that she had made the payments legally by issuing cheques to National Herald to help the publication pay salaries and overcome its financial issues. She reportedly clarified that she done all her payments legally and had never violated any law. It was also reported that the ED officials questioned Dr Geeta Reddy about her transactions. Anil Kumar also explained his payment to the National Herald. The ED officials reportedly inquired about transactions made by Anil Kumar from his bank accounts.
Earlier, former minister Shabbir Ali had appeared before the ED in connection with a similar case. A few leaders from TPCC would also appear before the agency for giving their clarification on making payments to NH.
