TRS MLC Hussain threatens woman, booked
Hyderabad: TRS Legislative Council member Farooq Hussain was booked by the Nampally police for allegedly threatening a woman and intending to outrage her modesty.
The complaint was filed by Ms Amtul Wasay of the city currently based in New York. She had rented a flat to Mr Hussain six years ago, and he was refusing to vacate the premises.
Ms Wasay was forced to come to India to solve the issue. She and her brother went to meet Mr Hussain on Monday. “He began shouting and using abusive language,” Ms Wasay told this newspaper.
TRS MLC was not even paying rent
“I asked him to vacate the flat as I am planning to return to India and live here. He began shouting and using abusive language. He removed his sandal and charged angrily towards me to hit me with it. My brother and I rushed out of the house fearing for our lives and went to the Nampally police station,” Ms Wasay told this newspaper.
The incident was filmed by Ms Wasay’s brother. In the video, the MLC, is seen sitting on a sofa and speaking with Ms Wasay. She is heard requesting the MLC to vacate the house, and Mr Hussain is heard asking her to go wherever she wants and approach whoever she wants. As the argument heats up, the MLC is seen getting up to his feet, screaming abusive words, and then removing his sandal and threatening to hit the woman with it.
Ms Wasay had agreed to rent the flat to the MLC six years ago for a sum of Rs 10,000 per month. She said he had not even been paying her the rent for the past six months. She said that they recorded their en-tire interaction on a mo-bile phone because the MLC had threatened and harassed them before.
Nampally inspector N. Sanjay Kumar said a case had been registered on the complaint filed by Ms Wasay.
