MAYILADUTHURAI: Unable to come to terms for being detected to have cancer, a 27-year-old woman committed suicide after killing her two children, aged four and one respectively, at Vadamattam area near Mayiladuthurai in Nagapattinam dt on Saturday.
Police said on Monday, the woman Nilofer Parveen was residing with her husband Abdul Ariff (32) and her children in Dubai. When she and her children came down to Mayiladuthurai a few months back for family reasons, she came to know that she was suffering from blood cancer following a clinical test.
Nilofer’s house remained shut for a long time on Sunday, prompting the neighbours to break open who were then shocked to see the woman and her two children dead.
On information, police went to the spot and removed the bodies of all the three for post-mortem.
Police seized a note from her residence which said nobody was responsible for their death and it was the incurable disease that had driven her to this extreme step.
