Attention diversion: Rs 3.5L robbed from car

The incident only came to light after Sudhakar returned to his car and found his bag missing.

Bengaluru: In a case of attention diversion, a businessman was duped to the tune of Rs 3.5 lakh along with important documents from his car driver by a gang on Friday evening in Commercial Streets Police station limits.

The police said the incident took place near a jewellery shop at around 6.30 pm when the complainant, Sudhakar Reddy Annem, a resident of C.V. Raman Nagar came to Commercial Street to purchase hardware materials. He left his bag on the back seat of his car and asked the driver to wait in the car and left to make purchases.

Just then three men approached the car and one of them told the driver that few currency notes were lying under the car. The driver got down and found Rs 10 and Rs 50 currency notes under the car and while he was collecting them, one of them took the bag and fled.

The incident only came to light after Sudhakar returned to his car and found his bag missing. The driver told him about the incident and he immediately rushed to the Commercial Street police station and filed a complaint.
