Chennai: A 27-year-old woman and her younger brother were killed in a hit and run accident near Chengelpet in Kancheepuram district on Saturday. The deceased were identified as A. Sivagami and her younger brother, A. Srinivasan, residents of Kunnam village here. Sivagami works as a private school staffer. On Saturday, Srinivasan was taking his sister on his motorcycle to drop her off at work when they met with the accident. They were riding along Maruthuvachari when a speeding Tata Sumo rammed into the two-wheeler and fled away. The two of them were thrown to the ground. Passerby rushed to their rescue and moved them to the Government hospital in Kancheepuram where they were declared brought dead. Police have registered a case and have launched the hunt for runaway car.
