Thiruvananthapuram: The Eloor Police on Thursday arrested three persons, allegedly members of a ganja retailing ring, on charges of assaulting police officers on duty and forcefully released an arrested ganja peddler.
The arrested were identified as Amal (24), Wilson (21) and P.C. Renjith (20).
The trio was accused of assaulting a civil police team soon after they took into custody a drug peddler from near the Manjummal bridge on Sunday evening.
“We’ve earlier arrested four persons in the case. The trio held today was earlier too held in drug peddling cases. They were produced before a court which remanded them in judicial custody,” police said.
