Hyderabad: Nayeem alias Balanna had prepared his grave besides his brother Aleemuddin’s grave in Bhongir. A top police official said, “His brother Aleemuddin was murdered to avenge the killing of naxal sympathiser Belly Lalita. Nayeem used to be very affectionate with his brother. So he wanted to get buried near him.”
Nayeemudin’s body was taken from Shadnagar to Bhongir at 3.14 pm to his house Nayeem Manzil. Initially the relatives of Nayeem refused to bury the body saying that his wife and other relatives should be released for the final rites.
Later cops persuaded them through religious leaders and got the body buried. His relatives took part in the last rites in large numbers. Doctors said the body had five bullet injuries.
Police are checking the claims that Nayeem had recently threw a big party in which all rowdysheeters of the twin cities and Nalongda had attended. A senior Intelligence official said, "Nayeem used to claim that he was ill and was taking treatment in Kerala to dupe the police. The news about his paralytic attack was not true. Due to his connections with police officials he used to escape quickly."
Funeral: ban on telecast
The police has warned TV channels against airing Nayeem’s funeral. An official release from Hyderabad police commissioner Mahender Reddy said that police will prosecute all TV channels, which air the funeral, under relevant Acts. The officials said that it will be a violation of the programme code applicable under the Cable TV Act.
