Justice at last, say Nayeem's victims

Both murders were suspected to have been orchestrated by Nayeem.

Hyderabad: The relatives of Nayeem’s victims, realtors and politicians heaved a sigh of relief after they came to know about his encounter death. While many people were waiting for justice after their kin were brutally murdered by Nayeem’s gang, others were living in fear.

K. Harsha, 68, the father of slain TRS leaders K. Sambasivudu and his brother K. Ramulu, was in tears when he heard Nayeemuddin was shot dead by the police. Both his sons were killed brutally by Nayeem and his gang as revenge.

"I had been praying for justice and I am overwhelmed to hear this news. But there are many more people roaming freely after killing my sons and they should be brought before the law," he said.

"My life seemed meaningless in the last five years. Now things have changed. This should not end here. The police should arrest all other suspects who were involved in my sons' murders," he said.

Ex-Maoist leader and TRS politburo member K. Sambasivudu was hacked to death in April 2011 in Nalgonda, while his brother and TRS leader K. Ramulu was shot dead in 2014.

Both murders were suspected to have been orchestrated by Nayeem. Belli Kavitha, 46, the sister of slain folk singer and civil rights activists Belli Lalitha from Bhongir also expressed happiness regarding Nayeem's death.

Lalitha was chopped into 18 pieces and was thrown in front of her associate's house in 1999 by Nayeem gang, who was allegedly supported by the state at the time.

"I came to know about his death from TV channels. And it's strange that I feel happy hearing a person's' death. But, I and my family are really happy about it," said Kavitha. Several other politicians and realtors who were threatened by Nayeem's gang also expressed their relief.
