Hyderabad: An auto driver in the city hit his three-year-old son by throwing him on his auto following a fight with his wife. The boy received injuries to his head and other body parts and is currently undergoing treatment at Niloufer Hospital in Nampally. The man has been absconding.
At about 2 am, the Jagadgirigutta police received a call through ‘Dial 100,’ that a drunk man in Srinivasanagar was beating his son brutally and was not leaving the child despite the neighbours intervention.
A police team rushed to the spot and found that Shiva Goud, in his early 30’s had beaten his son Ritwik, 3. They then sent the child and his mother to Niloufer Hospital for treatment.
A video of the act which was recorded by a resident went viral on Monday, in which Goud can be seen throwing the boy on the auto and hitting his head to the auto by holding the boy’s legs.
“Goud who was reportedly having an extra-marital affair was caught by his wife, who then went with their son to his paramour’s house. On seeing his wife and son, Goud got angry and started quarrelling with his wife beating his son,” said sources.
Jagadgirigutta inspector M. Narasimha Reddy said, “The boy’s mother was not ready to give a complaint, keeping in view the child’s safety. As she refused, a Suo motu case has been registered under Section 9 (1) (a) of Child Care and Protection Act and also under Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.”
