Telangana: Dagger, vehicles seized in Balapur; 25 arrested
Hyderabad: Rachakonda police conducted a cordon and search operation in Balapur village in the wee hours of Sunday. During the operation, police apprehended 25 suspects and eight history sheeters and recovered daggers and vehicles without documents.
The operation was headed by the Joint Commissioner of Police Rachakonda Tarun Joshi, with around 350 personnel, that included 20 search parties and other cut off parties. The operation began at 4 am and continued till 7 am on Sunday morning.
DCP LB Nagar M. Venkateswar Rao said that the operation was to check the movement of anti-social elements in Balapur village.
“We got information that persons involved in different cases are taking shelter in the village limits. To keep a tab on them, the operation was conducted.” the DCP said.
During the operation, Cops seized 27 bikes, five autorickshaws and four cars and also unearthed a ginger paste adulteration unit, gutkha storage unit and an illegal LPG cylinder refilling unit.
Police also seized three daggers from the residents. Gutkha packets sold with brand name ‘Talwar’ were also seized. Three cases have also been booked regarding these units.
Police said that the antecedents of the suspects and the documents related to the seized vehicles are being verified.
