Drama of Gadwala based doctor kidnap gets bigger

Srikanth who is working at Delhi Metro Hospital was kidnapped by an Ola cab driver on Thursday.

Hyderabad: Delhi police investigating the kidnap of Gadwala-based doctor Akkala Srikanth Goud suspect that there could be more than one person involved. Police has collected leads and is working on it. While his parents were shocked, his uncle, Narayana Goud, travelled to Delhi to find out the status. Srikanth who is working at Delhi Metro Hospital was kidnapped by an Ola cab driver on Thursday, while he was on his way home in the cab.

ACP Preet Vihar Amit Kumar Singh said that they have collected leads and are working on them to solve the case, but could not reveal details as the investigation is under process.

“We suspect that more than one person could be involved. We found that Srikanth was not the main target of the kidnappers,” the ACP said. More than 10 teams are combing the National Capital Region (NCR) area to trace the kidnapped doctor.

Police could track the mobile location of the kidnapper but could not trace, as he was constantly moving from one location to another. Police also found that the documents submitted by the cabbie to the Ola management were fake, which is hampering probe. Meanwhile, the Ola management had informed police of receiving a call from the kidnapper demanding Rs 5 crore as ransom.

Akkala Srikanth Goud hailing from Jogulamba Gadwala district had early completed MBBS from China and was working at Metro Hospital in Delhi, while preparing for Medical Council of Indian Entrance. On Friday, after attending a seminar in the hospital and had dinner with his three other colleagues. All four of them booked an Ola cab to go to their rooms, but after all got down Srikanth was alone in the can to go to his room in Green Park.

The hospital staff found him absent to duty on Saturday and inquired from his friends to find out. He did not return home on Friday. The hospital lodged a complaint with Police.
