Mob lynches two youths in Assam suspecting them to be childlifters
Guwahati: Two youths from Guwahati on a pleasure trip to picturesque Karbi Anglong hills district in central Assam were lynched by a mob suspecting them to be childlifters.
The incident on Friday night was the fallout of a rumor circulated on social media about presence of childlifters in the state.
One of the attackers in the mob even recorded the entire act on his mobile and circulated it on the social media in which one of the victims, Nilotpal Das, was seen pleading before the attackers that he was an Assamese and from Guwahati.
With folded hands, Nilotpal was heard pleading for his life, “Don’t kill me…please don’t beat me. I am an Assamese. Believe me, I am speaking the truth. My father’s name is Gopal Chandra Das and mother’s name is Radhika Das…please let me go.”
