Palakkad: Two young women, who are cousins, were found hanging at the house of a relative at Olavakode near here on Thursday morning. The deceased, Anupriya, 19, and Nima, 20, were staying at the house of their grandmother for doing a beautician course. A suicide note recovered from the house said that they were ending their lives because of certain family issues.
Nima, a resident of Nemmara, was married. Her husband is working abroad. Anupriya, hailing from Kadalundi in Malappuram district, was also getting ready to marry. Police suspect that they hanged themselves at midnight.
The police said that both the women were upset about their families opposing the marriages with the men they chose. Prima facie there was nothing suspicious in the case, police said.
