Hyderabad: A 28-year-old woman was electrocuted in Jeedimet-la on Wednesday. Police said that the mishap occurred when the victim, D. Ambavva, was drying clothes in the premises of a finance company where she and her husband were employed as guards.
Ambavva and Sudhakar, natives of Nizamabad district, came to Hyderabad nearly two years back with their three children. A year ago, the couple had joined Haripriya Housing Finance as watchers at their shed in Metkaniguda where seized bikes of defaulters were kept. They were living on the premises.
The couple had tied a metal wire to an iron rod to dry clothes. A ceiling fan was fixed to the rod inside. “The cabling was not proper. The cable connected to the fan was defective, due to which the rod conducted electricity leading to an electric shock,” said Mr Sehubabu, sub-inspector from Jeedimetla Police station. A case for causing death due to negligence has been registered against Mr D. Mallesh, owner of the company.
19-yr-old dies in freak mishap
A 19-year-old boy died after he accidentally fell from the top of a water tank in Jagathgirigutta on Thursday. V. Madhusudhan was the younger son of Mr Ramanjaneyulu and Ms Swathi from Kurnool. They had moved to Hyderabad and were living at Maqdoom Nagar under Jagathgirigutta Police station limits.
Madhusudan had completed his SSC in March with 7.8 GPA and his father was planning to admit him to a college in Kurnool for Interme-diate. The family was supposed to leave for Kurnool on Wednesday evening.
On Wednesday, after Mr Ramanjaneyulu left for work, Madhusudan went out and climbed the water tank near Venkateshwara temple. “He might have climbed the tank to see the surroundings and see the scenery. He could have accidentally slipped and fallen,” said Jagathgirigutta inspector P. Srinivas.
His family members denied the chances of Madhusudan committing suicide as there were no problems at home. A few of his friends meanwhile said that in school earlier he had collapsed a couple of times. A case of suspicious death has been registered.
