Hyderabad:Two days after a complaint was lodged against MLC Bhoopathi Reddy’s son Snehith Reddy in an attempt to rape case, police is yet to trace him and his friend Aarav Reddy who is the other accused in the case.
Investigating officials said that they are collecting evidence to establish the involvement of the accused in the case. Meanwhile, police seized a bedsheet, a pair of knickers and a beer can from the villa in addition to Preetham’s car.
After the main accused in the case, Preetam Reddy, was arrested for raping the beautician from Banjara Hills at his villa in Aparna Palm Meadows in Kompally, police found that his friends also attempted to sexually assault the woman, but when she protested, they left her and later dropped her in their car at Kompally X roads.
Enroute, they stopped at an ATM in Lakshmipuram to withdraw money. The ATM was out of cash and they headed towards Kompally.
Police said that they stopped at the ATM to withdraw money and give it to the victim, but is not sure if they gave any cash to her from their pockets for her to return to her residence in Banjara Hills. After dropping her, they sped away.
Police said that it traced the last location of Snehith and Aarav in the campus itself through their mobiles, but hit a roadblock as the mobiles were switched off since then.
Police also contacted their families for their locations but in vain. “Before that, we are collecting evidences to establish their presence at the scene of offence and their involvement in the offence. Based on that we will proceed,” a senior investigating official said.
According to sources, Snehith’s father, Bhoopathi Reddy, is trying to use his offices to help them evade arrest.
