Hyderabad: A 30-year-old housewife named Sri Latha hanged herself to death at her residence in Shamshabad police station limits on Tuesday.
Police said the family of the deceased, Sri Latha, said that she committed suicide due to severe stomach pain. However, the police is waiting for the post-mortem report to confirm the reason for her death.
“Sri Latha married Gangaiah, a security guard, 12 years back and the couple has three children. Relatives said she had been suffering from stomach pain for sometime now,” said Shamshabad police sub inspector Mohd Pasha.
“On Tuesday morning she was behaving normally with everyone. Later, she locked herself up in a room and hanged herself from the ceiling,” the SI added.
Based on a complaint from the deceased’s father, Venkaiah, Shamshabad police booked a case under Section 174 (suspicious death) of CrPC and launched an investigation.
The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
