Hyderabad: Father rejects marriage request, youth ends life
Hyderabad: An 18-year-old youth committed suicide on Sunday as his father refused to conduct an early marriage for him. Police said Syed Amaan Ali Naqvi, an AC mechanic, wanted to marry a girl whom he liked and asked his father, Azhar Ali Naqvi, a businessman, for approval. He became depressed on hearing his father refuse permission and consumed poison at home.
“The boy fell in love with a girl and asked his father to talk to their family and get them married. The father said Amaan had three sisters who needed to be married and only after they are married, he will agree to his proposal,” said Rein Bazaar SI V. Yugandhar. Unable to stomach his father's response, the boy went into depression. On Sunday, Amaan consumed poison at home.
