Hyderabad: A 23-year-old event manager who had sex with an event organiser was arrested by the Karkhana police on Tuesday. The victim is pregnant.
Police said Saurav Gupta had stayed with the victim for two-and-a-half months before abandoning her.
Karkhana ACP V. Tiru-pati Rao, the woman met Gupta in 2014. She rejected his advances but he allegedly made her drink soft drink laced with sedatives and raped her. “When she threatened to raise an alarm, he took her to Goa and married her without his parents’ knowledge. They started harassing her. Unable to bear it, the victim left him and terminated her pregnancy,” he said.
