Hyderabad: She team nabs man, 2 brothers

The trio allegedly made lewd remarks at the women who had come to the theatre.

Hyderabad: Cyberabad SHE teams on Saturday nabbed two students and a 25-year-old youth, who were allegedly harassing women on the premises of Swapna theatre in Katedan.

The trio allegedly made lewd remarks at the women who had come to the theatre. Police said that Kamalesh, 25, from Bihar, had come to see the morning show on Saturday. The others arrested are two brothers aged 18 and 17, who are students.

The three were 'spotted' by SHE team dressed in plainclothes. “They were passing vulgar comments and making obscene gestures,” inspector, S. Venkat Reddy said.

Cyberabad police have so far arrested over 260 people through these decoy operations this year. Fifteen minor boys and four senior citizens are among the arrested.

According to police officers, the largest number of offenders nabbed by SHE teams are aged between 18 and 30 and are students. This year, 185 people in this age group were apprehended for harassing women. Thirty-three people arrested are aged between 30 and 40 years and 11 were between 40 and 50.

The SHE team usually files a FIR against the offender if there is a serious crime.
At least 47 FIRs have been filed in the past three months, and 50 of those arrested have been sent to judicial remand. Cases have been registered against the trio who were arrested on Saturday.
