Alappuzha: A young woman here, who had committed suicide on February 26, was sexually abused by her lover, it is alleged. Deepika Prakash, 23, Thirukulathu house, Kalavamkodam, a nurse working in Malappuram, was found hanging in her house. Her mother Radha lodged a complaint with the district police chief seeking a detailed investigation into the case.
Radha said that Deepika was in love with a youth belonging to Kadakkarapally, who exploited her sexually. The police did not collect the required details and forged the FIR helping him to evade the case, she said. Cherthala sub-inspector C. Prathapachandran said the inquest on the body was carried out in the presence of tahsildar and the post-mortem was done by the police surgeon. The police have been examining the call list of the mobiles used by the lovers, he said.
