Nellore: The police detained Pasupuleti Bhanu Teja on Tuesday for questioning about his role behind the suicide of G. Madhavi, 28, a resident of Cooperative Colony in Kavali working as assistant professor in an engineering college near Kavali. Although she committed suicide by hanging on Sunday afternoon, the incident came to light after her relatives approached police late on Monday night.
The accused, Bhanu Teja, is a resident of Rammoorthy Peta in Kavali and he has been working as sales promoter in a gold showroom at Nellore, although he is a post-graduate. He and the woman are in love since four years and she has been pressurising him for marriage. However Teja, who is preparing for Group I exams, is against the marriage till he gets a proper job, according to information. Another version is that he demanded some property from Madhavi and her mother Santhamma accepted to give it after marriage. However, some differences developed between the pair and this led to the wide gap.
In this backdrop, Madhavi took the extreme step after recording her agony in selfie-video with the help of the camera in her mobile. She said that she lost interest in living anymore and invited him to apply kumkum on her head besides bangles to her hands after her death. In a suicide note addressed to her mother she said that she lost interest in life hence seeking eternal bliss. She also told her brother Suneel that his sister is no more.
In another letter found by her relatives, she accused Teja for believing in rumours and suspecting her. Madhavi said that she is not going to give any more trouble and assured that there will not be any cases against him since she has no plans to complain against him. The letter indicate that she is very much hurt with his attitude in the recent past. Although she never mentioned anything against Teja in the video, police held him after the victim's sister Janaki handed over the video clipping to police and lodged a complaint against Teja accusing him for her death. She also alleged that Teja was trying to marry some other woman.
