Vijayawada: The CID has caught a gang, making duplicate land documents in the name of the dead. The CID SP told the mediapersons on Tuesday that the gang took advantage of the incidents after the murder of Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga in 1986, in which some documents got burnt in the sub-registrar office at Gunadala, Vijayawada.
The gang created a dummy family with names and age and got duplicate voter cards. They created a death certificate and then in the name of the dead, they created land documents with survey numbers and all the details. Then they claimed that the land cannot be sold and some members of the family are legal heirs of the dead.
Chiluka Rani purchased the same land, which is in the name of the dead in Gunadala and when she wanted to pay the tax, she came to know that the land is in others’ name. An inquiry was launched and it was found that the land is entangled in a case in the High Court. They complained to the police. Then it was found that a gang, led by D. Ramarao, was into all these things. CID SP Kalidasu Venkata Rao has appealed to the public that anybody facing this type of problem and find any of this gang inform them immediately.
