Kammanahalli molestation case: Sixth accused nabbed

A day after the incident, the police had managed to arrest five people, but George had gone missing.

BENGALURU: The Banasawadi police have arrested the sixth accused, George alias Pappi, 21, in the Kammanahalli molestation case. He was absconding after the molestation video was aired on TV channels.

George, an electrician, was one of the six youth, who were involved in molesting a woman, who was walking home, on a narrow lane in Kammanahalli around 2.40 am on January 1.

A day after the incident, the police had managed to arrest five people, but George had gone missing. “Based on credible information that he had taken shelter at a relative’s house in Anekal, a police team arrested him on Monday. He was interrogated and he confessed to his involvement in the crime,” the police said.

Pappi was on a bike and was waiting on the main road when the other two accused, Ayyappa and Leno, molested the woman, the police said.
