Hyderabad: A six-year-old student studying at a Madrasa was killed in an accident in Vikarabad district on Monday. Police said the mishap occurred when a speeding school van hit Badrunnisa who was walking to the Madrasa. Badrunnisa is the second daughter of Md Saleem, a bike mechanic from Baharpet in Parigi town in Vikarabad district. She and her elder sister were studying in the Madrasa located in their neighbourhood.
On Tuesday she and her sister were walking to the Madrasa. When she was near the Madrasa, a school bus of Sudiksha High School, which was carrying students to school, hit Badrunnisa from behind. She flew in the air and fell some distance away with very serious injuries. Passersby who saw her rushed her to a hospital where she was declared dead. Based on a complaint from her father, a case of causing death by rash driving was registered against van driver Kranti who fled from the spot after the accident, police said. Eyewitnesses said there were around 15 students in the school bus when the incident happened.
