Hyderabad: A 15-year-old girl died suspiciously at Patancheru on Sunday. Dindi Laxmi’s family held her last rites without informing anyone. Police booked a suspicious death case and launched a probe. The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) also issued a notice to the Sangareddy SP to file a report by January 25.
Laxmi’s parents Mahesh and Sakkubai, were working in a brick kiln. On Saturday Laxmi attended school and wrote an exam also, police said. Principal Prakash said she was healthy. Villagers said her parents had said she died due to ill health. They said the parents used to force her to work at the kiln and beat her. Her death is suspicious as her parents cremated her instead of burying as is done in the case of unmarried people.
