Hyderabad: Around 250 drunk drivers who were caught on New Year Eve in Rachakonda and Cyberabad were given jail terms ranging from three to eight days. Additional DCP (Traffic) Rachakonda N. Divyachandan Rao said that in Rachakonda, 110 persons were jailed. “Anyone caught with more than 50 mgdl BAC will be jailed,” he said.
Meanwhile, around 150 persons who were caught in Cyberabad Commissionerate limits were also imprisoned. From January 1 to January 9, around 250 drunk drivers were convicted. Police said that the anti-drunk driving operation will be taken up seriously to prevent any accidents.
