Case for circulating fake news on former Maharashtra Governor

Police said that content saying that he was joining the BRS, was widely circulated on social media platforms

Hyderabad: Cybercrime police of Hyderabad city registered a case against unidentified persons for circulating morphed content on former Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao.

Police said that content saying that he was joining the BRS, was widely circulated on social media platforms.

Taking objection to this, Vidyasagara Rao's team lodged a complaint saying that the information was fake and it was being circulated to tarnish his image during the elections.

Police said they are in the process of identifying the miscreants involved in the issue.

It may be noted that Vidyasagar Rao who served as Governor from 2014 to 2019, has recently joined back the BJP.
