Visakhapatnam: In an overnight attempt, three criminals targeted the Narasingabilli Cooperative Society Bank in Kasinkota mandal.
The robbers managed to breach the bank's security and got into the bank. But they were ultimately thwarted by local residents.
The incident unfolded late at night. Three miscreants infiltrated into the bank premises. They subdued the night watchman and immobilised him with ropes. To conceal their identities, they sprayed black paint on the bank's CCTV cameras, rendering them inoperative.
But local residents discovered that something was amiss at the bank and informed police.
This isn't the first instance of criminal activity targeting banks in Narasingabilli. A short while ago, in the same village, a thug executed a daytime heist at the Grameen Vikas Bank. Brandishing a firearm, he successfully took away ₹15 lakh.
