Kerala gangrape: In-laws dismiss gangrape theory, flay victim, hubby

The complaint needs to be inquired into in detail as it could be a ploy to get undue money, they claimed.

Thrissur: Parents of the Wadakkanchery gang rape victim's husband on Tuesday raised doubts over her complaint and alleged that the couple would do anything for money. “They had been taking money mortgaging our land, and we now need to protect the six-cents of land and house in which we live from being taken away,” the 65-year-old mother-in-law of the victim told reporters here. The 75-year-old father-in-law also was present at the press meet.

They said the two children of the victim had been staying with them as they did not care for them. “The complaint needs to be inquired into in detail as it could be a ploy to get undue money,” they claimed. They had made similar statements earlier. Dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi and actor T. Parvathy who addressed the press with the victim in Thiruvananthapuram, however, dismissed them saying that should not be the justification for the gang rape.
