Gang held, cash & ganja seized in Hyderabad

Raju Singh, Vishal Singh and Vishal Mudiraj robbed a trader of Begum Bazaar when he was stepping out of his shop with a bag containing cash.

Hyderabad: East zone police busted a robbery gang and arrested three people who were also peddling drugs in their neighbourhood.

Raju Singh, Vishal Singh and Vishal Mudiraj robbed a trader of Begum Bazaar when he was stepping out of his shop with a bag containing cash.

Police recovered Rs 5.5 lakh and two kg ganja from the suspects. Police said the trio who were close friends had been planning to rob traders in Begum Bazaar to raise money. One of them had earlier worked as a collection agent for a trader in Begum Bazaar which helped them to know the cash movement in the area.

“As per their plan, they went to the market on Vishal Singh’s bike and surveyed the area late at night to identify targets. They attempted to rob a trader twice before, but it was a failure.

On October 22, the trio waited outside a shop and observed the owner. Vishal Mudiraj stood near the shop and the other two stopped their vehicle at a paan shop and waited for the trader to come out.

“At around 10 pm, noticing the trader’s movement, the trio followed him and snatched his cash bag. When the victim resisted they assaulted him and fled,” said a senior police official of east zone.
