Man accused of cheating caught after 10 years in Tamil Nadu

Mohanraj, one of the accused in the case, was absconding ever since the case was registered in 2013

Hyderabad: The CID arrested an accused from Kancheepuram district of Tamil Nadu in a 10-year-old case that was reported at the Nacharam police station.

Mohanraj, one of the accused in the case, was absconding ever since the case was registered in 2013.

According to CID, the accused had swindled funds from Ravi Kumar Distilleries Ltd using forged and fabricated documents. They defrauded the company and also took away their shares. In 2013, the fraud came to light and Nacharam police registered a case, which was, subsequently, transferred to the CID.

After completion of the investigation, CID filed the chargesheet. But as Mohanraj went absconding and a non-bailable warrant was issued against him. Based on clues on his whereabouts, CID sleuths traced him, served the warrant and brought him to Hyderabad. He was produced before the court and sent to judicial remand, CID Chief Mahesh Bhagwat said.
