Police organise ganja mukt Hyderabad'
Hyderabad: With increasing incidence of ganja seizures in the city, the Hyderabad police on Saturday conducted ‘ganja mukt Hyderabad’ — an awareness programme to educate people on the need to stay away from narcotics and help make Hyderabad a narcotic addiction free city.
Addressing a gathering of around 250 people including youth in Dhoolpet, Mangalhat, city police commissioner Anjani Kumar said the police needs the cooperation of people in making Hyderabad free of ganja. “We are conducting this programme for your good. We want the youth of Dhoolpet to choose the right path. We will always support you,” he said.
Meanwhile, the LB Nagar and Meerpet police announced that they arrested three persons and were searching for two more in cases related to peddling of ganja and hashish oil. Officials said they recovered 600 grammes of ganja and 8 ml of hashish oil, along with one motorcycle and three mobile phones, all worth Rs 85,000. from the arrested persons.
Those held were identified as 19-year-old Varala Santhosh, 35-year-old Ravva Philips Kalyan, and 23-year-old Syed Aziz.
Search for another accused Shobha, and a fifth person, Zithu was on, the Rachakonda police said on Saturday.
