Biker washed away in flooded drainage

HYDERABAD:  A man reportedly fell into a drainage and was allegedly washed away during the heavy downpour in Chintalkunta area of Vanasthalipuram late Friday night. The man, who was riding his bike on the flooded Chintalkunta road, fell off his bike into a roadside open drainage, the police said. 

Confirming the incident, Vanasthalipuram ACP K. Purushottam Reddy said the police teams, along with fire officials and the GHMC teams were on the rescue mission. “We retried the bike and as per the vehicle records, the person is identified as Jagadish from Pahadi Shareef area. He was taking a left on the road before falling into the drainage which leads to the LB Nagar area. Efforts are on to trace him,” he said.
