Hyderabad: A thief succumbed to injuries he sustained when he tried to escape from a house that he was targeting to steal. Police said neighbours raised an alarm on spotting him. Y. Arun Kumar, 24, tried to escape but fell and sustained injuries.
Locals informed the police who rushed Kumar to Gandhi Hospital where he died on Sunday night while undergoing treatment.
According to the police, Arun Kumar had attempted to break into the house in Bandlaguda to rob it. The house was under construction without a parapet.
Keesara inspector B. Prakash said, “The neighbours noticed Arun Kumar and screamed for help. In a hurry to escape, he climbed up to the roof but accidentaly fell down.”
Police registered a case under IPC Section 304 A (suspicious death) and further investigation is underway. Police handed over the body to his family after post-mortem.
