Hyderabad: A first year BTech student died when an RTC bus mowed him down in Moinabad on Friday. The student, Sai Kiran, 18, was a first year civil engineering student of JBIET college. He was crossing the road when the bus hit him.
Police said Sai Kiran was a resident of Nimmapally and hailed from Karimnagar district. The bus hit him from behind. Sai Kiran was injured seriously and was taken to a local hospital, from where he was shifted to another hospital. "However he died on his way to the second hospital," said inspector S. Sunitha of Moinabad.
After receiving a complaint from Sai Kiran's relatives, police booked a case under Section 304A (death through negligence) and arrested the RTC driver. The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital morgue for post mortem.
