Protect the cattle traders of Telangana: MIM
The All India MIM has asked the Telangana DGP to stop the harassment of livestock traders and transporters and the arbitrary seizure of animals on the eve of Bakrid in Hyderabad, Cyberabad and other parts of TS by police and municipal officials.

A delegation of party MLAs and MLCs led by MIM general secretary Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri and Charminar MLA met DGP Anurag Sharma and complained to him against police harassment.

Interestingly the MIM which had complained against attacks on traders by gau rakshaks last year, complained against the police this year. The MIM delegation said that unlike previous years, when gau rakshaks belonging to the Sangh Parivar and other outfits had created problems by attacking vehicles and persons transporting cattle, this time police seem to be showing over zealousness by resorting to large scale harassment of those transporting cattle.

They said they have been receiving complaints about large scale harassment of persons bringing cattle (oxen and buffaloes) for slaughter for Bakrid. They said the police has set up many check posts at entry points to Hyderabad and other major cities.

The police officials manning these check posts are stopping vehicles bringing cattle (oxen and buffaloes), imposing huge fines, registering FIRs, arresting vehicle drivers and traders and seizing animals on flimsy grounds. The MIM leaders said that police registered cases against cattle traders in Alwal, Bollarum and Amangal and Mahbubnagar areas.
