Two TRS leaders among four held for murder bid

There are differences among Srinivasa Rao and Madhava Rao over a land to the extent of 10 acres in Koyalachalaka

KHAMMAM: Two Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leaders and two hired killers were taken into custody for trying to murder a former scribe here on Sunday.

According to Uppala Venkanna Babu, circle inspector of Khammam urban police station, Manchukonda Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS) chairman Mandadapu Sudhakar and his brother Mandadapu Madhava Rao and contract killers Bairu Venkanna and Harish were arrested in this connection. The two TRS leaders agreed to give Rs 25 lakh to kill Tulluri Srinivasa Rao, a real estate person in Khammam and a former journalist.

Another person Ellamapalli Hanumantha Rao, a friend of Sudhakar and an unidentified supari killer are at large. Venkanna Babu said Srinivasa Rao had lodged a complaint that Sudhakar and his brother were trying to kill him in a land dispute issue in Koyalachalaka.

“Basing on the complaint, the police started an investigation and found a witness to the allegation. Bairu Venkanna and Harish, who were arrested, agreed to kill Tulluri Srinivasa Rao”, the inspector said.

There are differences among Srinivasa Rao and Madhava Rao over a land to the extent of 10 acres in Koyalachalaka in survey number of 198 and 194 in Raghunadhapalem mandal.

Srinivasa Rao lodged a complaint against the real estate venture of Madhava Rao in Khammam. In the complaint, Srinivasa Rao, who worked as stringer in a vernacular daily, alleged that Madhava Rao occupied roads in the venture and made double registrations to the sellers. Following that, a case was filed and Madhava Rao was sent to jail.
