Hyderabad: A rowdy sheeter was murdered by his uncle at Syednagar in Banjara Hills on Monday night. He was attacked with an iron rod on the head. The dead Mohammed Ishaaq, 32, was married and has two kids. Police said Ishaaq was involved in attempt to murder and extortion cases in Banjara Hills and Humayunnagar. The police had also proposed to detain him under the PD Act. He was recently arrested in an attempt to murder case and jailed. He came out on bail about 15 days ago.
Police said after he came out he met uncle Salim who runs a grocery store. He started asking him money for court expenses and other things. “Three days ago, he came to Salim’s shop and demanded money. Salim refused and asked him to leave,” said a police official. On Monday, at around 8.30 pm, Ishaaq who was suspected to have been on drugs, came to Salim’s store and asked for money. When Salim asked him to go he started abusing him.
“They had a heated argument. After that Salim grabbed an iron rod and hit Ishaaq on the head. Ishaaq, who had a dagger attacked Salim. Ishaaq was injured seriously, but Salim escaped with minor ones,” said the official. Ishaaq was taken to Osmania Hospital where he died on Tuesday. Salim was shifted to a hospital and is out of danger. A murder case was booked.
