Hyderabad: The Chandrayangutta police has registered a case against a private website and a caller who allegedly used defamatory words against the Arab community and the Barkas locality during a phone-in programme.
A person named, Ali Bahadek, a resident of Chandrayangutta, in his complaint alleged that the WhatsApp news channel had telecast a phone-in programme on Thursday. During the programme a caller named Asif called and used defamatory words against the Barkas locality and Arabs. Following the complaint the police registered a case against the channel and Asif. Meanwhile, the elders of Barkas organised a meeting and apprised people about the importance of the Arab community and how they had migrated to Hyderabad from the Middle East.
