Hyderabad: Kamminga's wife, pals take on excise staff
Hyderabad: Dutch national Mike Kamminga’s wife Shilpa Mary and his friends have launched an online campaign against the excise police, stating that he was arrested on the basis of mistaken identity.
The Special Task Force of the Prohibition and Excise department has reiterated that he was arrested based on comprehensive information and evidence of his drug links and network.
Official sources said that since Nanakramguda, where Kamminga stays, had become a hub for marijuana sales, Kamminga had developed his network of the local marijuana trade.
“We have been trying to crack his mobile phone for more information. As iPhone 7 has more security features as compared to the previous models, we expect to take at least a week more before we can start getting leads from the data in his phone,” the sourced said.
“We need to identify his associates who supply drugs to students. We have all the preliminary evidences against Kamminga, but some more evidences are needed which we hope to get from his mobile phone and laptop”, the source added.
According to SIT insiders, while there may be delays in reports from the State Forensic Lab on the analysis of laptop and mobile phone of Kamminga, SIT is planning to approach private ethical hackers to get quicker results that would make the investigations move faster.
Once the SIT gets information from Kamminga’s mobile and laptop, it would approach the court once again to seek his custody for at least one day.
“When we took Kamminga into our custody for three days, he was suffering from fever and did not co-operate with us,” the SIT source explained.
