Hyderabad: The Maheshwaram special operation team (SOT) along with Chaitanyapuri police arrested three persons for smuggling ganja and seized 64 kilograms of the contraband worth Rs 13,30,600 from their possession on Saturday. Police intercepted the trip at early in the day at the Kothapet crossroads.
The accused were identified as Shivalingaiah Swami, 23 and Jorge, 30, of of Karnataka and Appa Rao alias Janardhan , 34, of Malkangiri district in Odisha state. Police said Appa Rao had purchased the ganja in Malkangiri, concealed it plastic gunny bags and came to Hyderabad by public transport and got down at Kothapet to meet the Swami and Jorge when he was arrested.
