Hunt for Koliyoor murder suspects on in Tamil Nadu

The police said Maryadas had a feud with a Tamil Nadu native for a short while.

Thiruvananthapuram: The city police has sent special teams to Tamil Nadu in connection with the murder of a man at his rented residence at Koliyoor near Venganoor on Thursday night. The victim Maryadas, 45, was found bludgeoned and his wife Sheeja, 42, was found lying in a pool of blood by their teenage daughter early in the morning. The police said Maryadas had a feud with a Tamil Nadu native for a short while.

Around three months ago the man had an altercation with the deceased. The victim also had financial dealings with many and used to lend them money. The police also are probing the involvement of robbers and migrant criminals in connection with the case. Maryadas was brought dead to Medical College Hospital whereas Sheeja had to undergo multiple surgeries on her head.

The police will be able to obtain vital clues once she gains consciousness and gives her statement, officials said. The murder seemed to be the handiwork of a hit squad as little solid evidence was left by the assailants, police officials said. The assailants had entered the house by breaking the window grill. The daughter came to know about the attack after being woken up from sleep by the pet cat.
